Are old job ads driving people from your website?

I have been doing a survey over the last few weeks of recruitment agency jobs pages and have noticed an alarmingly high number of agencies with very old "current job" listings. Some even dating back to 2009.

Have you checked your careers site to make sure you are not guilty of this?  If so it is easily resolved.  Your recruitment or job posting software provider should be able to sort it out,  or your consultants need to be aware of the problem so that they can clean out the old ads.

Old job ads on your Current Jobs page send a clear message to job seekers that the jobs are either fake or that you have poor administrative procedures.  Either way they have good reason to move on to someone else's website.

Food for thought....

Countless men and women are put off changing career simply because they're scared about what will occur if it does not work out. But would you rather lie on your deathbed having given it your best shot, or do you really wish to give up on your dreams? Career change is becoming increasingly more prevalent, and nobody will think any less of you if yours doesn't work out - if anything, people today are more likely to admire you for having had the balls to have a go.
